The Big Day
One villa, one ceremony, one very long dinner.
SeaSilia Villa
A private villa on the Akrotiri peninsula, looking over the bay of Chania. The ceremony and the reception both happen here, so once you arrive, you’re in for the night.
Akrotiriou, Kounoupidiana 731 00, Crete
About 10 minutes by car from Chania town.
How the day runs
Arrivals
Shuttles come up from Chania town. Find a seat, find some shade, and say hi to everyone.
The ceremony
On the lawn above the bay. Short and sincere, we promise. We’ll confirm the exact hour closer to the day.
Drinks and light snacks
Cold drinks and small plates while we get pulled around for photos.
The reception
Dinner is a spread of local Greek dishes with options for every taste. Wine and beer flow all evening.
The send-off
Shuttles run back down to Chania. What happens after that is between you and the old town.
It’s a week, not a day.
We’ll be on the island early, and we’re hosting a few casual get-togethers in the days before the wedding. Some are for family, some for friends, and some for everyone. If you’re invited to one, you’ll get those details directly from us.
Our advice: come at least a few days early. You’ll beat the jet lag, and Crete deserves the time.
Mediterranean chic
Light colors, light fabrics. Think linen, flowy, and easy to dance in.
Linens and lightweight fabrics in light colors. For women: wedges, block heels, or flats, since the ceremony is on grass. For men: a blazer is optional. Sunglasses are a good idea, and hats are welcome.
Black, strong colors, busy patterns and prints, stilettos on the lawn, and ballcaps.
September in Crete: days around 27°, evenings around 19°. Bring one light layer for after dark.
Leave the driving to us
Shuttle
Transportation runs to and from Chania town before and after the wedding, and possibly from other areas depending on where people stay.
Taxi
The villa is an easy 10-minute taxi ride from Chania. Have your accommodation call one, or grab one at the harbour rank.
Rental car
There’s parking at the villa. Keep in mind the wine and beer plan before you volunteer to drive.
The fine print
Can we bring the kids?
We love your little ones, but this is a small gathering and we’re keeping the ceremony, reception, and all the festivities adults-only.
Can I bring a plus-one?
This is an intimate celebration of about 30 to 35 people, so we’re only able to host invited guests. Unless we’ve told you otherwise, please bring your wonderful self and nobody else.
What’s for dinner?
A selection of local Greek dishes with options to suit all tastes, and we’re big on food, so you won’t leave hungry. Wine and beer run all evening.
What if it rains?
September on Crete is one of the driest, warmest months of the year. If the weather surprises us, the villa has covered space and we’ll adjust on the fly.
