Our Story

Eighteen years, told quickly.

Scroll

We got together eighteen years ago, saved everything we had, and left on a one-way trip that never really ended. Somewhere along the way the trip became the job, the job became Goats On The Road, and the two of us kept moving.

The road years

We never sat still.

Buses, boats, rented scooters, and one very loud van. We learned to pack in eight minutes and to order food in languages we can’t read.

None of it was fancy and all of it was fun.

Dariece finds the food.

Every city gets the same treatment: he disappears behind a camera, she finds the place the locals line up at, and we meet in the middle with pastry.

Our 18-year anniversary. A wine estate with a little stone tower, lunch on the lawn, and a ring he’d been hiding for weeks.

Why Greece

Greece picked us first.

A friend’s wedding on Paros sold us years ago: the light, the water, the long dinners that outlast the sun. We sailed, we swam, and we filed it away for later.

So when it was our turn, there was no debate. Crete, September, everyone we love on one hill above Chania.
